Hipsia Keister
Hipsia Keister is a graduate student of Lewis and Clark College in the Counseling Psychology Master’s Program. She has worked with refugees and immigrants from many different countries, such Middle East, Europe and LatinAmerica. She has also worked in multiple organizations, having the opportunity to help survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Hipsia crystallized her dream during her first year of school to work mostly with adults who struggle from trauma and eating disorders. Given the opportunity by Conexiones for her internship, she is now able to carry it out. She has participated in various events organized by the community. For the last three years she has been written an educational blog toward to the Latin community, and collaborated at KBOO radio addressing preventive topics. In October 2010, she became an active board member of Voices Set Free, an educational institution that seeks to create an ongoing dialogue within the community to address violence against women, children and under represented populations.
